INSPIRED LIVING WORKSHOP SERIES

At Bosman Hermanus great effort is taken to tread lightly on the landscape. We aim to farm sustainably and therefore the entire 270 hectare farm is under conservation management which means that a concerted effort is made to continuously encourage the indigenous ‘fynbos’ to flourish.

While being passionate about sustainable farming, our Frame House promotes sustainable living. For us it has become a way of life to improve the life we live.

This series focusses on skills to make our everyday life simpler and more sustainable, looking to improve our own skill in finding the beauty and inspiration around us.

WINTER DISHES AND WINTER WINES

Get inspired for winter entertaining with passionate forager and local chef Rickey Broekhoven. He will demonstrate step-by-step how to make three delectable winter dishes using locally sourced, in-season ingredients which guests will get to taste over lunch and make at home with the recipes supplied.

Join formidable photographer Jenni Elizabeth for a fully loaded 3 hour session where she will teach you the art of taking better pictures with your mobile saving you money and time, and teaching you a new and useful skill. Jenni will cover light, composition, camera angles, styling, backgrounds, editing, and so much more. From the practical side she will take you through the process of creating & shooting the perfect flat lay or still life as well as how to shoot a good portrait.

Anyone is welcome and no photography skills are needed. Just bring your mobile and Jenni will teach you the rest.

PAINT THE VIEW

For Heritage Month, join chef Nic van Wyk, from Kokkedoor fame, as he breathes fresh ideas into our beloved South African cuisine.

Nic will demonstrate his unique approach to heritage dishes, going back to age-old traditions and simple pantry staples from your grandmother’s pantry, while demonstrating processes step-by-step and arming you with all the recipes to recreate his dishes at home for your friends and family.

A JOURNEY WITH FYNBOS

Presented by plant expert and forager Hendrik B. Fourie

Hendrik Fourie, resident fynbos and conservation expert at Bosman Hermanus, will take you on a fynbos journey through the farm. Hendrik will share his wealth of knowledge about foraging, endangered species, and the use of medicinal plants. The field trip will include advice on making cuttings and creating a fynbos garden.

Hendrik inspires us to live from the land and grow plants that belong in our unique and beautiful corner of the world.

PLANT-BASED SUMMER COOKING WITH SUMMER WINES

Hermanus’s very own “Queen of Vegan”, Emilia Knight, is renowned for her croissants, breads and so much more, produced and sold from the ever-popular Gallery Café and Deli in the village. Famous for her dedication to and passion for sustainable, plant-based foods, Emilia will demonstrate how to create fresh, flavourful and exciting vegan summer dishes and pair them with Bosman wines.

Meat-free Mondays will be easy and delicious after this workshop.
